The fact is many people
never report incidents because they don't know how to or
simply don't want to be involved. In many cases,
students, faculty or staff may observe unusual behavior
but don't know what to do or are uncertain about what
the behavior may signal. We refer to these behaviors as
red flags.
To solve this problem,
RiskAware offers universities our Red Flag incident
reporting system. Red Flag, gives universities an
easy-to-use, web-based solution that makes reporting of
unusual behavior painless. Red Flag is a flexible, yet
robust system which can be configured to conform to the
university's existing policies and procedures.
Depending upon your university's requirements, Red Flag
can be configured to be completely open and anonymous,
open only to your threat assessment team or many
combinations in between.
Red Flag works by
providing an online form for the collection of
specific information relating to incidents or
behaviors that may appear unusual, suspicious,
threatening or potentially harmful. This
information is then aggregated in a centralized
database where it is formatted and displayed for
evaluation by the university's team of authorized
users. This team can review the submitted reports,
determine appropriate follow-up actions and then
document their actions in the system. Red Flag even
allows for anonymous communication between the
university's team and the reporter.
